My favorite shoes!! They are so comfy and fit amazing.
I got these Sonic Cat running shoes in White/Pink/Purple for my wife, and she’s been pleasantly surprised by several features. Right out of the box, she loved the bright, vibrant colors, they stand out in the best way. The shoes are also incredibly lightweight, easily one of the lightest pairs she’s ever worn, yet still provide good heel cushioning for comfort during walks and workouts. Kind of remind me of Nike Air. The shoelaces are another plus, they’re designed so you don’t need to double knot them to stay tied, which is a small but welcome detail.
That said, there are some drawbacks worth noting. Sizing is confusing. The listing only seems to use men’s sizing, so we had to guess. My wife wears a women’s 8.5, so we ordered a men’s 7. The box we received was labeled as size 7, but the sneakers inside were marked size US-8. Oddly enough, they fit perfectly, but it raises questions about consistency and reliability in sizing and if we had actually had 7’s in the box they would have been too small.
Another negative is the warranty. The included paperwork states only a 7-day coverage, which is essentially meaningless. Thankfully, Amazon’s return policy is much more generous, but it doesn’t inspire confidence in the brand. Lastly, the tongue feels flimsy. It’s made from a very thin, felt like material. My wife worries it may tear over time if tugged on to slip the shoes on. We’ll just have to see what happens.
Overall, these shoes are light, colorful, and comfortable, excellent for workouts or casual wear. Just be aware of the poor warranty, flimsy tongue, and confusing sizing keep them from being a perfect buy. If you’re willing to take a chance on fit, they might still be worth trying, especially given their comfort and weight.
These are pretty odd. I've never seen shoes like this that were men's and women's. It kind of messed up the size. The suggested size for me was a 7, which is what I actually wear in tennis shoes. However, they are about a size too big. You can see in the pic where my toe lands.
Aside from that, I am just very uncertain about the durability of these. All the materials are very thin, airy and well-ventilated, yes, but see-through thin. Also, the tongue material is so thin that it just keeps overlapping and bunching up rather than staying in place.
The sides of the sole feel like heavy duty foam…not something I'm used to seeing on athletic shoes.
The bottom sole has a bit of a curve to it which kind of encourages your foot to roll with each step…like it's doing the work for you.
The laces have a texture to them which makes it a little more difficult to pull easily as they kind of grip. But, maybe that will help keep the laces from coming undone.
Overall though, I must say they are quite comfortable. Just nothing at all of what I'm used to seeing in an athletic shoe and am worried about how long these will last.
