I have a fitbit which tells me the time, and I worked for decades as a massage therapist so I couldn't wear watches or rings. I was excited to try out a wristwatch. My last one died in 2012 and I never bothered to get another.
There are a few things I do not like about it. I prefer a self winding or "automatic" watch but in this price range that would be unlikely. I hate the trip to the jeweller to get a battery replaced. I also do not like the type of clasp that they used. However, once you master it, the clasp is undetectable and all you see is the links of the watchband.
You will need a magnifying glass for the owners' manual that they furnished. It's half the size of my iPhone so the print is proportionate. Berny has uers manuals available on their website. You will need to scroll all the way to the end and you will see the user manuals listed under support.
I received an insert telling me how to undo the clasp. I tried and tried, and then I went onto YouTube and they have great videos on how to open the clasp and how to take links out. Quite frankly, I prefer Berny's YouTube videos to their written directions. I had to remove 7 links. I cannot remember ever having a watch where the manufacturer provided tools to take out the links by yourself. It always meant a trip to the jewellers with a new watch and a bill for the resizing. It was nice to receive the do-it-yourself tools.
This is a classic looking watch. It's not too plain, and I love the green watch face. I don't know how well it will keep time, but Berny began watchmaking in 1995, so that's 30 years. Even though the name might be new to us, it is an established brand. It's a good price for a mechanical watch.
